Welcome
For many years, illegal immigration has been an important issue in the United States. Today, illegal immigration still continues to grow in the 21st century. David Becerra, David K. Androff, Cecilia Ayon, and Jason T. Castillo are all academic journalists at the Universities of Arizona and Utah. They quote a statistic given by Passel and Cohn which includes that, “undocumented immigrants come to the U.S. from around the world, however the majority, an estimated of illegal immigrants are 76%, are Latino, of which 59% (7 million) are estimated to be from Mexico and 22% (2.1 million) from the rest of Latin America”. Approximately 11 million illegal immigrants are living in the United States, and the immigration population is continuing to grow. Some Americans seem to be concerned about having many undocumented people in this country, but truthfully, illegal immigrants make up only .3% of the United States population. Many Americans are under the wrong impression that illegal immigrants are taking over the economy and leaving many people jobless. Meanwhile, immigrants are working for equal job opportunities as well as Americans to make a better living for themselves.
